Type Locality and Naming
Arunachal Pradesh, Dalbuing Fm named by Singh (1984) after the village Dalbuing has a restricted occurrence in the Yamne valley. [Original Publication: Singh, S., 1984. A reappraisal of Yinkiong Fm with reference to Dalbuing area, East Siang district, Arunachal Himalaya. Ind. Minerals 38(2): 34-38]
Lithology and Thickness
Shallow-marine marl. Limestones, phyllites (foliated claystone) and shales.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Gradational contact with the Geku Fm.
Upper contact
Tectonic -- Abor Volcanic Fm or the quartzite of the Tenga Fm tectonically overlie the formation along Roing Fault.
Regional extent
Easternmost Lesser Himalayas. Yamne Valley from east of Yinkiong to southeast of Dumro in the Sipung Korong stream.

Fossils
Foraminifera of Nummulites atacicus, Assilina dandotica, A. daviesi, N. Laminose, N. globulus, A. spinosa, etc. (Singh T., 1983). Prasad and Dey (1986) reported palynomorphs of Dandotiaspora, Cyathidites, Malayaeaspora, Foveotrilete, Spinainaperturites etc.

Additional Information
Prasad and Dey (1986) reported pterydophytic spores, gymnosperm and angiosperm pollens and phytoplanktons from the Dalbuing Fm. The assemblage is dominated by triporate and tricolporate palynomorphs suggesting an Early Eocene age. Some reworked Lower Gondwana palynomorphs are also recorded in the Dalbuing Fm (Kumar, 1997).
